About NSS

Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s birth Centenary year, 1969. The primary objective of the scheme is all round development of students through participation in community service. NSS is a voluntary association of young people in educational institutions. with a view to establishing a strong and meaningful campus-community linkage.

Ch. Sughar Singh Educational Academy NSS programme is organised by the students themselves, and both students and teachers, through their combined participation in community service, inculcate in them a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation building. The programme accords its members a unique opportunity to hone their skills and develop a deeper understanding of social problems and needs. The NSS programme at Ch. Sughar Singh Educational Academy imbibes the spirit of community service.

Motto
The motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’. This projects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and respect for humanity by transcending the narrow barriers of caste, creed and religion. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is inextricably dependent on the welfare of society.
